Cards and games, including Bingo,  are a big part of our activities at McMullen Assisted Care. If you’ve never heard of Garbage, Golf, Sevens, Kings in the Corner, Bunko, or Pig- stop by and we’ll teach you. These games help keep our brain cells working and always bring laughs. Some residents also enjoy playing Euchre. There is an ongoing puzzle in the living room for those who have the patience. I don’t!

Every other Wednesday is Lunch Bunch. We like to support our local restaurants.  Wedge wing Restaurant in Perrysville is a favorite.

Outings are also enjoyed; if not just for a ride. Which means driving to Merry Dari for ice cream first. The residents have enjoyed the Hill Farm Orchard,  our very own Cleo Redd Fisher Museum,  the Carousel, Carousel Works, and events at the Ohio Theatre.  A pontoon ride on Pleasant Hill Lake was a lot of fun.

Some residents show their athletic skills at Corn Hole, Ladder Toss, and Horseshoes. They are actually very good. Dan gets the spirit award as he encourages others.

Biweekly,  manicures are done at no charge.  Our local ministers take turns monthly providing worship every Tuesday afternoon. Resident visits from Pastor Howdie (Perrysville Baptist Church) and  communion service by Pastor Scott Henderson (Zion Lutheran) are also monthly.

Our 60 foot porch is where you’ll see residents visiting with each other with their ice tea or lemonade. They also enjoy our large living room watching old games shows or reading by the fireplace. Resident love anyone playing the piano, so if know of someone who would enjoy playing our baby grand, call me!

I do everyone’s hair weekly or haircuts when needed. If residents choose to continue going to their own hairdresser, that is fine, if they have transportation.

As you can see, at McMullen Assisted Care we don’t just play Bingo. We do many other things!

Our daughter, Brittany, does a great job with our daily Facebook! Check it out.
